What are you circling? What promises are you praying and believing the Lord for? HOW YOU CARRY THAT WORD or PROMISE MATTERS GREATLY. The Lord has taken me on a journey over the last several years to carry the words or promises that I’m believing Him for. I’m guarding the words and trusting God to be faithful to His promises. I want to share a few things that I have learned and am continuing to learn. I’m going to use my daughter, Lindsay, as my tangible example, along with those in Scripture who have carried a word or a promise. Part 1: ABIDING & Part 2: AGREEMENT. If you haven't read those blog posts, it may be helpful for context. In this 3rd part on this theme, I’m going to share the next KEY WORD that matters in carrying a promise/word. The next key word is: ATTENTION (this means to make the Word or Promise the main thing or central focus). Imagine taking a pregnancy test and then thinking the pregnancy will just be a side issue in your life. :) When Lindsay was expecting Weston (he is 7 weeks old now), from the moment she saw the + sign on the pregnancy test, her life totally changed! The baby (Weston) had captured her attention; he had been her central focus for 9 months! Who will he look like~ daddy or mommy or Silas (big brother)? How long will he be when he is born and how much will he weigh? How much hair (if any) will he have? What will his personality be like? On and on were the thoughts Lindsay had about Weston. He was not a side issue or something she thought about a few minutes from day to day. NO, she thought about that little baby in her womb every minute of every day! And prayed for his life every day! The word or promise of the Lord is not something you visit once in a while. It’s to be the thing you are carrying, keeping, holding close to you at all times. Only when that word abides in you will it come to full term and be made manifest. This does not mean that we worry about the word/promise, but we hold it; we cherish it; we remind the Lord about what He has spoken. We pray it, we speak it, we believe it. The Word or promise captures our attention. It keeps our hearts drawn to God’s goodness and love for us. Here is an example of this from my life recently. The ONEHOP (Omaha, House of Prayer) team received a prophetic word from the Lord concerning our building. We received the word from much prayer time together as a team. When we received the word (it was a promise & a Scripture), we held it. We prayed it. We spoke it. We believed it. The word had our attention. It became the central focus of our prayer times together as a team. Even when it looked like nothing was happening in the natural, we let the word abide in us and waited for it to be made manifest. It took 9 months of praying together, knowing we were “pregnant” with a word and a promise from the Lord that the doors opened to our building we are currently in. What do you need to pay ATTENTION to? What is the Word or promise or Scripture that the Lord has given you? Let the Word ABIDE in your heart. Line up your thought life, prayer life and speaking AGREE with the Word. AND let the Word have your ATTENTION! Luke 1:37 "For no word from God will ever fail."
