What are you circling? What promises are you praying and believing the Lord for? HOW YOU CARRY THAT WORD or PROMISE MATTERS GREATLY.
The Lord has taken me on a journey over the last several years to carry the words or promises that I’m believing Him for. I’m guarding the words and trusting God to be faithful to His promises. I want to share a few things that I have learned and am continuing to learn. I’m going to use my daughter, Lindsay, as my tangible example, along with those in Scripture who have carried a word or a promise. In this 2nd part on this theme, I’m going to share the second KEY WORD that matters in carrying a promise/word: AGREEMENT There are several elements to AGREEMENT. I will share the first couple in this blog: The first way to carry the word or promise of the Lord in agreement is to PRAY IT! The word or promise you receive has to become the fuel for your prayer life. We need the “RHEMA” from Jesus (what He has said and what He is saying) and pray about it. When Lindsay found out she was pregnant, she immediately began to pray for the little one being woven together in her womb. She had Scriptures to pray over him, declarations she made daily about his life. When the angel Gabriel came to Mary and spoke, "...you have found favor with God. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High...." Luke 1:30-31. Mary's response to God was, "I am the Lord's servant. May your word to me be fulfilled." (Luke 1:38). Mary then carries this Word or Promise of the Son before God in prayer, which Scripture titles "Mary's Song" in Luke 1:46-55. Even though the words spoken seemed impossible in the natural, God loves the realm of the miraculous! Let Luke 1:37 bring great confidence to your heart, "FOR NO WORD FROM GOD WILL EVER FAIL." Pray what God says about you, your calling, your children, finances, city, nation, future, marriage, occupation, etc. If you need a word or a promise or Scripture for an area of your life, get in your prayer closet and ask the Lord for a Word/promise that you can carry in your pray life, declaring it, praying it back to the Lord. The second way you carry the word of the Lord in agreement is to CHANGE THE WAY YOU TALK. Our language needs to line up with God’s language. When the Lord speaks, we NO LONGER have permission to say anything but what He has said. We cannot contradict by our words what God has said (by His Word or His voice). In the beginning of Lindsay’s pregnancy, she didn’t always “feel” pregnant. She couldn’t tell what was happening on the inside of her body, but she trusted the “word” or promise of a baby by the pregnancy test she had taken. Just as in her prayer life, she carried the promise to the Lord, she also spoke of this promised little baby. Her language agreed with the TRUTH even when she didn’t feel life inside of her growing in the womb. There are promises, dreams, words that the Lord wants to grow in the womb of your heart. Begin to declare what you have heard from the Lord. The Bible is very clear about what GOD THINKS of us and the plans He has for us. But for many of us, it doesn’t change they way we talk. Do not speak from your emotions or feelings~ TRUTH is more real than your feelings. Bill Johnson (Bethel Church in Redding, CA) says, “I cannot afford to have a thought in my head about me that Jesus doesn’t have in His head about me.” That’s a little convicting isn’t it? :) The promises of God for your life may not have fully manifested yet. You may not be able to see them with your eyes…but when you know what God says or you have heard a word from the Lord, change the way you think, pray and the way you talk about your life so that it aligns with what HE says. My charge to you: Speak only what God is saying (if you are not sure what He is saying, then get alone with Him and listen). LINE UP YOUR LANGUAGE WITH HIS LANGUAGE!
