"The need for connection & community is primal, as fundamental as the need for air, water and food," Dean Omish
Community is a key in the times and seasons we are living in. You don't just fall into community, you need to be intentional to find it, keep it and fight for it! I want to encourage you to find your tribe if you are not connected in authentic community and if you have a tribe, fight for these values together. Here are 10 values of community: 1) We are better together. Buy into this reality. Put your flag in the ground that we are better together. To live out your calling & purpose in life, you need others. 2) Push your limits. Community gets you to do things you wouldn't do on your own. They motivate and support you, offering friendly competition. What could you do that you wouldn't do? 3) Intentionality. Spend time on who and what is really important. Steward your relationships well. Schedule time so it happens. 4) Honor one another. Personalities are unique. Experiences are unique. Communication styles are different. Make room for everyone. We all come into community with ideas of what it will look like. Honor and respect each person for who they are and what they bring into the tribe. 5) Humility. Yield your heart to one another. Put others before yourself. 6) Vulnerability. Be willing to take a risk with your heart. 7) Prayer. In your tribe, pray for each other. 8) Stories & Testimonies bring encouragement. Share testimonies with your tribe what God is doing in your life. What stories do you have of God's faithfulness? God wants to do it again, so share stories & testimonies to raise the faith watermark. 9) Feedback. Remember we all have blindspots so welcome advice and counsel from your community. Everyone in your tribe has unique experiences that can bring wisdom to your life. 10) Shared history. Reflect on where you've been and where you're going.
